According to Census and Statistics Department, 33.8% of the labour force was between 25 to 34 years old in 1993. But in 2022, the percentage has dropped to 21.97. Conversely, in 1993, only 8%
of the labour force was between 55 to 64. In 2022, more than 20% of the labour force was at this age range.
This data reflect the problem of aging population in Hong Kong, and it may affect the economic growth, patterns of work and retirement age of Hong Kong
